There are plenty of myths about predicting your baby’s gender. Most of them have been passed down through generations and are no more than old wives’ tales. Science, however, can prove there’s a little truth behind some of these crazy myths, after all.

1. Dad's weight

You've heard of sympathy pains, but this is more like sympathy weight gain. It's believed that the baby's father will pack on the pounds during your pregnancy if you're having a girl. One study in Denmark looked at the weight of of 100 dads-to-be. Nearly every dad who put on weight had a girl but only five dads who had a boy gained weight.
