Supplement your way to a healthy pregnancy

G and her husband had decided to start a family. They were very excited but were a little unsure about what they needed to do to ensure a healthy pregnancy. They met with Dr Lubna Harharah at The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Centre (a Singapore Medical Group clinic) to gain more information and tips about trying to conceive.

Dr Lubna is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist that specialises in the management of a wide range of conditions involving the female reproductive system. She has a keen interest in pre-invasive cervical conditions such as the treatment of abnormal smears.

Dr Lubna loves to meet couples at the start of their family journey. It is important to get all the information and advice needed to have a healthy pregnancy.

G was told to start taking folic acid as soon as possible. This helps to reduce the risk of neural tube defects. She was also recommended to increase the intake of calcium and iron, as these are important for bone and red cell development.
