Also known as placentophagy, ingesting is one of the most popular uses of placenta. The placenta is viewed as a great life force by many, and it is believed that it can even cure postnatal depression. Animals have been doing this for centuries, and humans have jumped on the bandwagon.

  • In Vietnam and China, the placenta is dried and added to recipes to increase vitality.
  • By boiling the placenta and drinking the broth, Chinese women believe it will improve their breast milk production.
